This year, the ATO and AusIndustry will publish R&D Tax claim details to enhance the transparency and accountability of the program.
Changes introduced back in 2021 mandate the annual publication of information related to R&D entities and their respective expenditures. The inaugural release, scheduled for September 2024, will feature data from entities that claimed an R&D tax offset in the 2021/22 Company Tax Return.
The published information will encompass:
Name of the entity claiming the R&D tax incentive
Australian Business Number (ABN)
Entity’s total expenditure on R&D (total notional deductions claimed – label Z in Part A of the R&D tax incentive schedule), excluding feedstock adjustments (label B in Part B of the R&D tax incentive schedule).
This data will be sourced from the submitted forms accompanying the company tax return. In the event of amendments to the return, the published information will reflect the amended version.
If you have any questions about the upcoming release we encourage you to speak to your R&D Tax Consultant at Fullstack.
